2026 Brighton High School Band Information

While we are still quite some time away from the 2026-2027 school year, we want to share dates and information to help our band families prepare for the future. In March of 2026, we will begin our registration process for the 2026-2027 Brighton High School Band and will release our new band handbook. To view our current band handbook to see how the BHS Band operates, click here. For our upcoming new members, we know that this all can seem overwhelming, but we try to keep everyone informed. High School Band is a large commitment, but it is so worth it; the positive culture we have and the life lessons we learn create a one-of-a-kind experience. We are proud of our students and look forward to the future. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mr. Mayo at jmayo@tipton-county.com.

    • October 30th – Football Game

    • October 31st – Saturday Rehearsal/Competition

  • Some of these football game dates will be struck from the calendar as we discover which games are home games, which games are away games, and which away games the band will be traveling to.

  • There is the possibility that a Friday game or two will be transitioned to a Thursday night game.

  • A football schedule is sometimes released during the spring; however, these games are sometimes still changed.  For instance, the schedule changed twice this past season.  Please wait for the official schedule that will be released around band camp time.

  • We will perform as a pep-band at any play-off games that we can to support the football team.  These dates will continue on Fridays throughout November and will depend on the football team’s position in their classification.

  • Our competition schedule as to where exactly we will be going will be better known as different contests reveal their dates.  Some of these dates may even be struck from the calendar.  Please wait for the schedule around band camp time.

  • Performances are part of the student’s grade.

BHS Band Fall Football Game and Competition Reminders:

  • Remember to keep Friday evenings open from mid-August through early November for football game performances.

  • Remember to keep Saturdays open from September through early November for competitions.

  • We will likely have a competition on the Saturday before fall break (Oct. 10th).

  • There is sometimes a football game the week of fall break at the end of the week. We understand that some families travel during this time. If such a game occurs, we expect our students that are in town to perform as a pep band.

  • We will not have a competition on the Saturday at the end of fall break (Oct. 17th).

  • Most of the time, we are a pep band when we travel to away games; these games are still required even when we are just a pep band.

  • A more precise schedule will be made once football games and competition dates are known.

  •  These performances are required for participation in band. The reasoning is that one opening in the drill or music causes us to not be able to march/perform at our best. Band is the ultimate team activity.
